Hockey is Life Scholarship Awards

The Copper Country Oldtimers are proud to announce the award of $500 college scholarships to each of three local high school graduates from the Class of 2015.  The awards are made from the Hockey Is Life Scholarship Fund established by the Copper Country Oldtimers Hockey League with support and assistance from River Valley Bank.  The 2015 recipients are Anthony Harris from the Jeffers Jets to attend Michigan Tech, Brendan Longhini from the Houghton Gremlins to attend Michigan State, and Madison Labyak from the Keweenaw Storm to attend Salve Regina (Rhode Island).



Golf Outing Saturday June 6

Shotgun Start at 10:00 AM at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge.  Please call Craig Sporalski at 370-2653 to register so that we can get an accurate head count.  Overnight accommodations are available in Copper Harbor for $10.

League Playoff Champions

Congratulations to Baraga Telephone Company, 2015 Playoff Champions of the Copper Country Oldtimers Hockey League.  BTC prevailed over ReMAX Douglass 2-0 in the Championship Game held Sunday March 22.

Next up is our League Banquet – April 18 at the Hancock American Legion – Please RSVP to your team captain.

Tournament Champions

Congratulations to the Reds (21+ Elite), M&M Powersports (30+ Gold), CW of America (30+ Silver), Coon Electric (40+ Copper), ReMax-Ginger Stroube (50+ Legends), and Monte Carlo Regulars (60+ Masters), CHAMPIONS of the 2015 Copper Country OLD-Timers Hockey Tournament.  Thank you to all of the players and fans that participated, and especially to our sponsors and the band of brothers that make this tournament happen.  Tentative dates for next year’s tournament are March 17-20, 2016.
